Undeniably Manolo Sanlúcar’s teaching is what brought me to study musicology. I met the great master in 2013 during the Cordoba guitar festival and decided two years later to take a Master’s Degree in musicology, writing my dissertation on his musical and theoretical work. After defending my thesis, I wished to pursue my work, synthesizing the results of my research in articles published on the websites flamencoweb.fr and pieflamenco.com. Musicology has furthermore considerably enriched my composition. A number of rythmical structures used in the duet with Arthur Bacon, for instance, hail directly from considerations on the rythmical characteristics of Flamenco.
